Vision+ 43" LED TV - Clicking Noise and Startup Issues (September 2025)

Vision+ LED TV Y-sustain board with failed capacitors

Bulging capacitors on Y-sustain board causing clicking

New capacitors installed - clicking noise eliminated
Vision+ 43-inch LED TV came in with clicking noise and intermittent startup issues.
Clicking noise usually means the power supply is struggling. The TV is trying to start but something is preventing it.
Understanding the Symptoms
Clicking sound when you press the power button. Sometimes the TV would start, sometimes it wouldn't. Very intermittent.
This pattern is characteristic of power supply protection circuits activating.
Diagnosis Process
Opened it up. The power supply board looked okay at first glance. But I could hear the clicking coming from the Y-sustain board.
The Y-sustain board is responsible for maintaining the vertical scan. If it fails, the TV won't start properly.
Locating the Problem
Found several bulging capacitors on the Y-sustain board. These were causing the clicking noise.
When the capacitors fail, they can't provide stable voltage to the sustain circuit. This causes the circuit to oscillate, creating the clicking sound.
The Repair
Replaced all the capacitors on the Y-sustain board: - 4x 1000µF 10V (replaced with 1000µF 16V 105°C) - 2x 470µF 25V (replaced with 470µF 35V 105°C)
Also replaced the main power supply capacitors as a preventive measure.
Testing and Verification
Powered it up. No clicking noise. TV started immediately and reliably.
Let it run for 24 hours. No issues.
Why This Happens
Vision+ TVs use budget components. The Y-sustain board capacitors are particularly prone to failure.
But the repair is straightforward if you know what to look for.
