Samsung QN43Q60C came in completely dead after 18 months. Customer said it just stopped working one day.

18 months is way too soon for a TV to fail. This is usually a manufacturing defect.

Initial Diagnosis

Opened it up. Power supply board looked okay. Checked voltages. All present and stable.

So the problem was on the main board, not the power supply.

Locating the Failure

Started checking components on the main board. Found several bulging capacitors.

These capacitors are part of the power distribution network on the main board. When they fail, the board can't function.

The Repair

Replaced all the bulging capacitors: - 6x 1000µF 10V (replaced with 1000µF 16V 105°C) - 4x 470µF 25V (replaced with 470µF 35V 105°C)

Also replaced the power supply capacitors as a preventive measure.

Testing and Verification

Powered it up. TV turned on and worked perfectly.

Let it run for 48 hours to make sure everything was stable.

Why This Happens

Samsung uses cheap capacitors in their budget QLED models. These capacitors fail prematurely.

This is a known issue with Samsung QLED TVs from 2023-2024.

Cost Analysis

Capacitor replacement: $40 Labor: 1 hour Total: $80

New Samsung QLED TV: $400+

The customer saved $320+ by repairing instead of replacing.
